Write Now Philly wants to let readers know about new books by Philly-area authors. If you are an author living in the greater Philadelphia area, or you are a publicist for or a publisher of a book by such an author, we invite you to get in touch.
We will announce new releases by Philly-area writers in a section devoted to that purpose. We will also consider announcing releases by authors who might no longer be in the Philly area but who have a strong connection (if you lived here for 20 years and just moved a few months ago, tell us). And we will consider announcing books that are of special interest to Philly-area readers (books about the city or region, local figures or history, Philly sports teams, etc.) no matter where the author lives.
To have a book considered, email pg@drexel.edu with the subject line: “New Release – Title of Book”. The body of the email should briefly describe the author’s connection to the Philly area (no more than one paragraph). Then describe the book. Please provide this within the body of the email and not as an attachment. Note that we will edit or rewrite as we deem necessary and use this information as the main content of the release announcement. You may also choose to simply provide the text from the back cover or flap.
Be sure to include: date of publication, author name, publisher (we will consider announcing books by small presses, big houses, and independent and self-publishers), basic category and format (novel, graphic novel, short story collection, poetry, nonfiction, academic/scholarly, YA, etc.). You must provide a link to an image of the book cover that we can use on Write Now Philly.
We suggest sending the request to us approximately one month before the book’s official release date. We cannot and do not guarantee that we will list all books submitted.
